    Almost certain this is the same bird as previous post. Interesting the way a perch size can make a difference. To me this one is too big for the bird. Just a little quirk of mine. See what others think. Trouble is I was set up for a jay so you grab what you can. The slow SS didn,t help.

    I agree with your self-critique on this one John. It's by no means a bad shot but I'm pretty sure you'll get better ones of him. A bit too large in frame for me and whilst the shoulder and back areas look nice and sharp, the head has suffered with the low SS I feel.

    Good gracious, this one is so fat. I chuckled when I saw this picture. I actually like the composition a lot. Maybe there is a little bit of tonal issue on the darker part of the picture (above the bird) and I would be tempted to clone out the dry leaf closer to us. But this is such a cool shot. I don't mind the bird being too large on the frame for this one.
