    Default White Ghost

Had a fun day shooting this female Snowy Owl in Ottawa with Daniel Cadieux. This year has been unseasonably warm, so not much snow, but we were lucky to have some snow last night. Overcast sky, so a white on white seems like a good option.

I'm pretty excited with this white on white frame, would appreciate your comments.
The 400f4 DO II is a dream lens for me for BIF in terms of sharpness, weight, AF.

    Thank you for your comments.

Loi, lovely indeed, I really like the ghostly appearance and the owls left wing and tail feathers seem to trail off as in a dream... the gold eyes are so piercing in contrast, and whoosh, it is gone!
    Frame this one!

Cracking image Loi. White on white works for me too!

I thought it was the males with the white underwing. Or is it the other way around?

thank you Shane. The male tends to be mostly white with only a few freckles of black and side by side they are smaller. This is a female for sure.

I like the white on white look, and those eyes never fail to impress me. I'm no PP guru, but I wonder if you could just extract a subtle bit more detail out of the owl, just so the left side of the face (as we look) has a bit more definition against the BG.

Beautiful white on white where the magical eye and the dark dots lightly pop out. I just love images like this one. TFS.

Hey Loi, glad you had a good time! The crop works really well, and you handled the white-on-white pretty perfectly. The 400DO indeed performed ideally for you in these conditions.

Beautiful. This fits into the theme of camouflage, really. The way you crop it is really nice. Thanks for sharing!

Man that background is sure white. The Owl looks awesome against it and it is a pretty neat effect how you only see the black details in the owl. Great that it's a Nice contrasty female. Nice frame

Hi Loi , lovely work !!
Well executed in field and post .
I just wish for a bit more space on both sides , does sit a bit tight in the frame for my liking .

Thank you Andreas, I have a little bit more space on the right, but not left. I will likely crop a little less on the right for the final version Loi
