First decent day we have had for weeks here in the UK were I live, not a right lot about on the moors, apart for some grouse, but what a beautiful morning, took this as it was having a preen,cannon500mm IS,L,F4,1/4EXT,700MM FL,5DMK111,crop,sharrpened,levels,iso2000,F9,1/1600S.
I like the preening pose Chris and the grasses in the foreground, think the bird gets a little bit lost in that dark stripe of background, it's lovely light which highlights the deep red colours of the bird, nice work.
Nice colours and details, I like the preening pose too. I did wonder about toning down the pale grasses on the RHS but I have reconsidered, I like the balance of light as presented.
Thanks Jonathan and Keith for looking and comments, the dark patches in the BG is heather, the sheep eat the heather, and grasses grow back in there place, sad, prefer heather.thanks again.
These are such beautiful grouse and I would love the chance to see one one-day. I like the preening pose and the complementary colors. Well done
