    Default Intensity

This is a red-tailed hawk (young bird) that Dave and I photographed last Nov. We found this hawk on a nice perch diving at coots, he made several unsuccessful attempts (which was great for us ). The light was already getting a bit harsh but I like the intensity of action and the expression in his face

    Hope you like it too

So sharp! Perfect wing extension and great BG.

Intense indeed! Love the full wing extension and the exceptional look at both the upper and underside of the wings. Your timing could not have been better.

Perfect moment of takeoff, great wing extension. Nice concentration. Lighting handled well; I wouldn't have noticed it was getting harsh without your mentioning it.

    Hi Gail Thanks!

We were lucky the hawk (and his head) is actually angled slightly towards us, half the time they just fly away. Of course he cannot take off with his head turned one way

Arash that is an outstanding image, full of action but razor sharp, perfect exposure and a dreamy back drop.

Arash, this is an awesome take off pose. I had a similar takeoff of this hawk, but now that I have seen yours, there is no point for me to post, isn't there? Powerful wing and body reaching forward, you can feel the momentum, and the colors and sharpness are perfect. TFS. Loi

Wonderful Arash. Such form and intention. I love this capture. Love the hawks left talon as it lifts off yet the right foot was still planted; amazing what beauty happens at 1/3200 which our eyes could never see. wow!

Great looking take off pose with the wings fully extended and the talons just about to leave the perch. The perch doesn't look bad at all and I really like the creamy background. Nice intense stare from the hawk. That was fun watching him going back-and-forth although he caught us by surprise a few times coming back in.
