Default Flight of the Little Egret

Another image from my trip to Cape Town over December. This little Egret was flying over the Milnerton Lagoon, and it seems like he was standing still compared to the fast flying ducks that speed through the air at this location. Taken early morning.

Very nice shot and super sharp. I think it starts to show the breeding color. Thanks for sharing, Stu!

Hi Stu, I appreciate the simplicity and elegance of the image and I too love the two toned pastel background. The lores is a bit pale; does that indicate level of maturity or gender? Often times the area between the beak and the eye is more yellow. thanks

Thanks Steve. The colour of the lores is as shot. Maybe not fully into breeding colours yet. I agree, when in full breeding, the yellows are more intense.

Doesn't get much better Stu, great control of the whites, love the subtle detail within them. Nice complimentary BKG, overall a cool colour palette, would love some of your light, just for a day.

Keep some for later please Stu.

Now I'm late to your party but I had to stop by and let you know how nice this one is. A Pretty common bird but captured beautifully and the exposure control looks fantastic. That extra bit of color on the bottom of the background really makes a big difference with this frame. Nice as always Stu.
