    Hi all a simple portrait of a Gannet , image taken on Helgoland with the red sandstone cliffs as a backdrop .

    Hope you like it .

    Canon EOS 1Dx
    EF 200-400 IS L at 376 mm
    tripod

    F 6,3 ; Iso 250 ; 1/2500 sec

    Processed with DPP 4 and PS CC ; slight crop from all sides 80 % of FF

    Quite a striking portrait Andreas and I like the warmth of the backdrop, makes a nice change. The light looks quite strong, but well handled. As an alternative I might go more pano, with less below.

    Andreas- I like the BG in this- reminds me of my red sandstone quarry where i do my pool stuff. Nice suble tones on the head too.. Maybe the time of year.

    Hi Andreas, this is not a "simple portrait of a Gannet" - its a very, very good portrait of Gannet. Love the IQ and colours on the face, and of course, the colour of the BG makes him pop so well. Congrats on a fine image.
