    Default Eurasian Nuthatch

Nuthatch taken a year ago in local woods enticed with beef suet in tree bark.
Light levels were low hence slow shutter speed and a big crop. Camera mounted on gimble and tripod.
The weather here is poor at the moment for photography.
    Thank you for looking.

    Graham:

Classic nuthatch, going their own way on the tree! Like the angled trunk, more dynamic, lifted head, soft background.
You did well to freeze him at that shutter speed.

I could see lowering the luminosity of the brighter area above, just a bit.

    Cheers

Typical utty Graham. They,ve really dropped in the forest here. had oneat the pool yesterday.
If anything I would lift the shadows a tinyn bit- on the eye patch for example but no big deal. Agree with bRandy re the light area,
    Cheers

Every photographer needs the classic nuthatch pose, especially when it is so well executed.
I love the IQ and am amazed that you got the bird so sharp at 1/50 sec.
The angled perch creates a nice diagonal line and you have a lovely BG.
    Terrific DOF throughout the bird.
I agree with Randy re: decreasing brightness at the top but not a big issue for me,
    Gail

Hi Graham, we dont get Nuthatches here in SA, but they all seem to give off this classic pose leaning out. Great work getting this at such a slow ss, and I do like the colours on him.
