An interesting shot and a very good moment. The head angle works for me and I really like the green background on the photo. I can't really tell if the focus is accurate on this one and I think the picture could benefit from a slight CW rotation. The horizon is a little off judging from the water ripple. Very nice tone, nonetheless! Thanks for sharing!
I like what you were going for here. I do agree with CW rotation, and I do feel that often small birds in the frame look better tucked closer to a corner - this image would benefit from a good crop from below (maybe half the space reduced down there). I love the prey item adding interest to the image, and the vertical striping caused by the reeds above is pretty neat.
