Default 5DS R Bill Pouch Detail

    Attached Images Attached Images

Brown Pelican 5DS R bill pouch detail

This image was created at La Jolla, CA on the last morning of the hugely successful 2016 San Diego IPT with the Induro GIT 304L/Mongoose M3.6-mounted Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS II USM lens, the Canon Extender EF 2X III, and the Canon EOS 5DS R. ISO 400: 1/640 sec. at f/11. AWB.

Center AF point (by necessity)/AI Servo Expand/Rear Focus AF as originally framed was active at the moment of exposure. This is a very, very, small crop from the left and the top. Click here to see the latest version of the Rear Focus Tutorial. Click on the image to see the incredible fine feather detail in a larger version.

The fine feather detail with sharp 5DS R images is beyond belief. To see same in a huge crop see the blog post here.

As for the image, don't be shy; all comments are welcome. a

Another picture, that proves the sense and the use of this 50MP Monster even in wildlife photography. Its not a fast body, but the details are stunning

Ok, in the right hands like here even a bit more..lol

Excellent Artie the details and colours are stupendous.
I would love to see some images of the whole of the bill and also some shots of the whole bird.

The detail and colors are mind boggling. The best close up of this species I have ever seen.

Detail and sharpness is excellent but the feathers still look so natural and soft.

Great frame. Love how the neck comes diagonally out of the corner. Details and colors are amazing. Great choice in comp.

Colorful, vibrant, sharp detail... the 5DS R certainly lives up to it's hype.

I like the IQ and the terrific details in the pouch and feathers.
The colors are wonderful. There is a 3D feel to the shot. I feel like I could reach into the computer and touch the pelican.
I know you chose this comp to highlight the pouch and appreciate that, but I would love to see the rest of the bill!
