    Dan:

Great POV, good lighting, colorful, love the 'hairdo'.

I am on the fence about the reflection, but overall think you made the right choice.

    Cheers

Yes, they are hard to approach most of the time. Nice image of the bird and the wake is great, Dan. Love the hairdo as well.

Lovely image... beautiful bird, pleasing color palette. I love the tufted head feathers. Thank you for sharing, Dan.

Dan, I lurk around here often, but spend most of my time in the ETL. I love the look this bird is giving you. The bird and I must go to the same hairdresser. BG is gorgeous. I just feel there could be a bit of blue in shadow? I hope I haven't shot myself in the foot here!

I'm a big fan Dan. I first misread your name as "Darkearl"...but it seemed to fit. Many of your images are dark and moody and very lovely.

    Glennie, thank you very much.
You are correct on the color, I almost reposted because of the blue cast.
Thanks for the compliment and the critique.

Nice shot Dan but I would suggest there is a blue cast on the bird, most apparent on the neck and back.

Hi Dan a lovely clean shot of the merganser , i really like the clean overall look with no distraction .Lovely smooth water and the trail behind the merganser is adding a lot .
Overall i think the SS was a bit slow to capture a pin sharp image , i agree on the blue cast and i think the subject could stand some more tonal depth , for sure just only my view .

A difficult and wary species this side of the pond and I have only limited success with them. Agreed, the blue/cyan cast a bit strong but still a superb image. I suspect there may be blues reflected if you had a blue sky anyway. Nice work Dan.

I like the bow wave, hairdo, calm water and composition. Blue cast already mentioned. Another fine addition to your low light series Dan!
