    Default Black-Necked Stilt in-flight.

Captured this morning in a mud bog where the Stilts are nesting. The chicks are running around now, and the parents have their hands full with predators flying over.

    Canon 1DsMII, 600mm f/4L, f/4, 1/2500, ISO 200, +1 EV, off tripod with Wimberley II head on Gitzo 5540.

Very well done, Bob. Sharp, nice pose, and great detail in both the blacks and whites.

Great pose, details and eye contact. Maybe a tad less contrast for more details in the blacks.

I think Axel had a good observation - There's quite a bit more detail in those blacks. Here's an adjusted version:

Yes, the repost looks much better on my monitor. If you apply S/H you could only select the bird. That way you won't get the slight halo around the wings. I must have my picky day. :)

I usually do curves adjustment in ACR. That way there aren't any halos or when S/H in PS, I use the magic wand tool on the sky, inverse and run S/H. Either way works well.

Looking for faults but can't find any to note. Excellently executed.

Personal preference mightbe to see some of his other wing but take it fwiw.
