    Default Yellow-Billed Cuckoo

While sitting in a blind down in Texas, a cuckoo landed in a tree overhanging the blind. The cuckoo being a life bird for me, I scrambled to get a photo. It was a low blind and I got on my knees and pointed the camera up as high as it would go. I couldn't fit the whole bird in the frame, but I did manage to get this. I like the way the tree helps frame the bird.

Congrats Doug. Excellent colors and clarity. The look he's giving you is pretty cool too. I also like the way you've framed this one with the branches on the right and lower borders.

Considering that you don't have the entire bird this is a good crop decision. I like the details and inquisitive look.

All things considered.........came out pretty good. I'm sure you wished for the whole bird...............but that's what keeps us coming back for more isn't it!!!

Great cropping job -the leaves on the bottom really help in the framing. Half a bird is better than no bird.

I love how the leaves frame the bird, congrats on a life bird, a nice portrait at the same time :)
