Default Juvenile Red Tailed Hawk in Flight

I'm sucks at bird in flight. Hand holding the 500f4 II is just a bit much for me and I dislike the use of tripod, not suitable for shooting inside a car. Recently I acquired a 400f4 DO II and love it. The lighter weight and balance of this lens is better for me handholding.

    1DX
    400f4 DO II + 2X III = 800mm
    1/3200
    f9
    ISO-2500
    HH from car.

The juvenile was trying to catch something on the ground and left its perch several times over the course of more than 1 hour, giving great opportunities to practice with both the 500f 4II and the 400f4 DO II + 2X TC.

Cropped to ~ 1/3 of FF.

    Thank you for your comments.

Excellent flight image Loi. I hope the new lens enables more flight shot success.

The wing position is not ideal but still a nice flight shot, Loi.

Hi Loi, Love this shot! IQ on the bird is great, complimentary colors in the background, little vegetation in the LRC ... could not ask for more! Very well done :)

Nice capture Loi! I agree that a better wing position would be better but the IQ looks great. Nice work and keep working that DO

Nice Frame Loi, good light and sharp but I also wish you had a better wing position

Thank you everyone for your comments. Agreed about the wings. I have other frames with better wing position, but the BG is less interesting. Will keep trying. Loi
