Size:  122.3 KBIt was late afternoon when I shot this so the ducks on the ice were lit up like Christmas lights.Nikon D600;70-300 f/4.5-5.6 IF-ED;ISO 450;f/5.6;1/750;HH;

    I think she looks a little sorry for herself. I might just brighten the image up a bit and allow the bird a bit more space beneath the feet.

    Good suggestions from Adrian. I would also compose the frame with more room on the right. Local pond? The ice is a bit of a mess.

Size: 137.7 KBThis is the best I can do with the re-crop for position Adrian----there's was no more room to the right but I've moved the bird up in the frame a bit. The pond is one of many at the Reifel refuge Grace and has a lot of ducks coming and going--I actually have cleaned it up somewhat , leaving what I left b/c that's what it is. Thank you both for the comments-I find them most useful as I tend to be somewhat less than thorough with details like these.
