    Default Oystercatcher In Flight

Taken at Fort Desoto two weeks ago. I caught this one on the fly and no time to prepare or compose. Such great birds and was thrilled to catch one in flight This was taken on an angle looking down the beach so the beachline is not straight as a horizon would be.

Beautiful, Judy. I like the pose, the bird is sharp and nicely positioned in the frame, and you handled the exposure well. I also like the touch of green at the bottom. Well done.

Very nice catch, Judy. You can still straighten the horizon loosing very little of the frame. It was great to see you today :)

This is just a nice image to view. Nice pose, BG, colors, and details. I agree on straightening the horizon a bit.

Great underwing details and eye contact. Another vote for a straight horizon and the patch of green could go for my taste.

    Hi Judy,
I wonder what the rotation would do to the birds angle??? May make it an unattractive bird position but worth investigating. I would get rid of the green........or go for a bit more. Still very well done!

Hi Roman I thought seriously about the rotation but it would really change the angle of the birds flight. Actually he would be looking down. The shoreline was on an angle and the dark line is not the horizion but the line of the shore . As far as the green goes I painted for years before photogrphy and for my own peraonal eye it adds another dimension . To take it out would make look rather sterile to me but that is why we all have varying tastes in art and I very much appreciate your thoughts.

I know it's a matter of taste, but I prefer a level horizon Judy. Also, the green at the bottom draws my eye away from the bird.

Hi Doug I agree with you about the horizon but I tried it and was not very sucessful in straightening it I am not sure what I was doing wrong but if you can tell me how I iwould really appreciate it because I too find anything that is off a real distraction. Many thanks for your comments.

Nicely done judy, I like the flight angle the way it is...:) The only thing that is catching my eye, is the green OOF at the bottom...
