Taken at Fort Desoto two weeks ago. I caught this one on the fly and no time to prepare or compose. Such great birds and was thrilled to catch one in flight This was taken on an angle looking down the beach so the beachline is not straight as a horizon would be.
Beautiful, Judy. I like the pose, the bird is sharp and nicely positioned in the frame, and you handled the exposure well. I also like the touch of green at the bottom. Well done.
beautiful bird, judy!!! and the bg is very complimenting with some beautiful colors. love that blue!! i really like the addition of the little bit of green on the bottom. kinda adds a little something to it. great job!
Hi Judy,
I wonder what the rotation would do to the birds angle??? May make it an unattractive bird position but worth investigating. I would get rid of the green........or go for a bit more. Still very well done!
Hi Roman I thought seriously about the rotation but it would really change the angle of the birds flight. Actually he would be looking down. The shoreline was on an angle and the dark line is not the horizion but the line of the shore . As far as the green goes I painted for years before photogrphy and for my own peraonal eye it adds another dimension . To take it out would make look rather sterile to me but that is why we all have varying tastes in art and I very much appreciate your thoughts.
Hi Doug I agree with you about the horizon but I tried it and was not very sucessful in straightening it I am not sure what I was doing wrong but if you can tell me how I iwould really appreciate it because I too find anything that is off a real distraction. Many thanks for your comments.
