Red-Winged Blackbird Singing. I don't usually get excited over any little songbird, but when this little guy landed on a cotton tail across from a narrow canal from me about 1/2 hour before sunset, I got excited because of the magic light and the multi color background.

Loi, if this were mine I would be excited too! BG is gorgeous, as is the singing little bird. Perch is unusual and unique. I am not familiar with these birds so unable to comment on colour..only that the red is very red.

    Thank you for sharing.

The singing/calling pose is superb. The reds do appear a little hot and there are sharpening halos ...all fixable. Nice work Loi.

I like the singing pose, perch, layered BG and composition. Reds look like they might have been blown. I would back down the sharpening a bitt too. Nice image Loi.

Classic Red-wing singing pose, comp and perch. And a beautiful graduated background. Good suggestions above. There seems to be a touch of yellow in the blacks; I don't mind it and assume it's a result of the lovely evening light.

Hi Loi, great angled singing pose with the open beak, and I really like your multi coloured BG. I do see the yellows in the black plumage, but as you have stated, magical light it was.

Thank you folks for your helpful comments. The red was blown. I just went overboard with saturation, forgetting that DPP tends to have more Red. So I desaturated the Red by -8 points and also reduced exposure by -0.1EV. Hope you like it. Loi
