    Default Colerain Convergence

My husband and I drove around our area a few evenings ago. I liked all the converging lines in this scene. It was a drab day, but textures converted it to a bright day.
I used my usual textures, but also used Topaz Textures for the first time, inspired by an excellent video tutorial by Mark Johnson.

Taken with my little Canon s100. In addition to basic adjustments and textures, I used Topaz Adjust, DeNoise and Detail, and CEP Sunlight.

Thank you for your comments, which always improve my images.

The effect of all those converging lines is just wonderful, and it's emphasized by the darker tones between the field and the road. I like what you did with the textures and filters, too. One of those textures left a nearly vertical line in the upper left that's just a little distracting to me. I wonder if blurring that texture some or pulling a bit of it off the left side of the frame would work. In any case, it's a beautiful image.

Because you use textures so well, I wonder about your impression of Topaz Textures.

Thank you, Dennis. I see the line you mention. I wondered about that upper left corner in general. Thanks for pointing out that the line is distracting. I'll tackle it.

Re. Topaz Textures--I used it for the first time in processing this image. What sold me was the ability to import into the program textures from my hard drive and save them in Topaz Textures, as well as the ability to make many changes to the textures once applied. It will take me some time to practice using it. I'll try to remember to post my impressions after a number of weeks. Thanks for asking.

I was wondering about Topaz Textures, too. Thanks for the initial input. Will consider it. Texture usage is still a big learning curve for me, so maybe this is the way to to.

Re your photo......Convergence! Yes. And the tree in the center point anchors it so well. Even the telephone lines cooperated! Good Eye. Agree about the vertical line on the left. Easy fix. I might be tempted, were it mine, to run a very slight darker line across the top of the fence rail on the left to distinguish it more from the grass. More like the rails beneath it. A glorious photo!

Thanks for your input. Good point about the top of the fence. Will make that correction also.

I hope "goon" was a typo and not a Freudian slip. Many thanks for the link; I'll take a look.

Yes, a typo! I meant good. I need to proofread my responses.

Anita, I really like all of the converging lines as well as the converging angles that they create: the geometry of the image caught my attention immediately. And I love the line of trees in the background. On my monitor, though, the yellows are a bit too saturated, although the more I view it, my eyes seem to be adjusting to it! Thanks for the link to the video...I'll take a look.

    Anita,

Greetings. Good comments above. I particularly like the composition with the convergence centered on the tree. I'm just not wild about the color. I played with it a bit but couldn't come up with a solution - too much yellow for my taste then the magenta in the grass. Monochrome offers some interesting possibilities. Thanks for posting.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Thank you for the feedback. It is rather yellow. I'll try reducing the yellow and see what i think. Thanks again.

Thanks for your comments. Wendy also mentioned the overwhelming yellow. I'll play around with it. I appreciate your views.

Nicely seen Anita. The lone tree is a great focal point. I'm with the others relative to the yellow. To date I have liked Topaz textures.
