    Hi Jon, the rich, blue of the water really makes the subject 'pop' very nicely, perhaps a tad over personally, however I think it really makes the image in this instance.

    Like the droplets on the plumage and the others just 'peppering' above the head. Good detail and the exposure looks well controlled. I'm not sure if it's where dark meets light along the back of the head, but is there a slight halo??? I might just remove the two 'water spots' bottom LH corner.

    Thanks for the feedback, I wondered why you thought the image popped but now I am looking at the image today and it looks totally different to yesterday, the ambient light in my study is much more subdued I now!

    I am looking at the image today and it looks totally different to yesterday, the ambient light in my study is much more subdued I now!
    That's why it's important to try to have a 'controlled' environment where possible Jon , makes calibration easy too, lol, although you do need to eat a lot of carrots I find.
