I have many shots of all the Owls nesting in Ontario but this is the only presentable one of this Owl.
They roost in small flocks and are very flighty.
If one or two stays behind it is still not much help as they are always berried behind branches.
The amazing thing about this image is, that it was shot in Mississauga, a busy city where you won't except to find Owls.
However, my birding friend found a flock of these Owls, one Northern Saw-whet Owl and a Boreal Owl there,
and phoned me to come. Date; 2008-01-13.
    Thanks for looking and commenting.

Superb image at 1/50, though soft. Very nice expressions and beautifully framed in branches.

It is great to look at "old" images and re-work them. Impressive shot for the very low shutter speed. I like the hint of snow on the pine needles and the eyes peaking through the brunches. TFS.

Magnificent bird, a treasure. I like how you handled the brightness of the snow and the exposure of the bird. Nice image, Karl. Thank you for sharing.

Nice shot. These owls hide very well and not easy to get a good shot of them. The ones we have around here have orange eyes, the one on the picture are yellow, never seen that eye color before.
