Perfect image for the theme this month. Nice detail, colors, and composition. Thank you for sharing, Bill.

Nice looking female Bill. Wishing for less snow on the perch as it detracts a bit imo. Still a great wintery picture though. Well done.
Nice image, fits the theme quite well, Bill. I have them coming but my backyard faces South, right against the light from the house
and I don't feel like going out in this cold.
Great winter scene Bill, bird looks really good with nice colour and detail, real winter bg.
Keith.
I agree this has a great winter feel to it. The snow looks great to me. I only wish the cardinal had perched the other way - angling towards us rather than away.
I like this!
Great to have a ff shot.
I would like to see a tighter crop with the top branch evicted and some off the RHS to keep the proportions.
I think the IQ on the cardinal is excellent and love that clear eye,
Gail
Thanks everyone. Gail, when I first worked this one up in 2014, I prepared two versions: one full frame as in the OP, and this one cropped something like you have suggested. I wasn't sure which I liked better, but opted to post the FF shot.
