    Nice looking female Bill. Wishing for less snow on the perch as it detracts a bit imo. Still a great wintery picture though. Well done.

    Nice image, fits the theme quite well, Bill. I have them coming but my backyard faces South, right against the light from the house
    and I don't feel like going out in this cold.

    I agree this has a great winter feel to it. The snow looks great to me. I only wish the cardinal had perched the other way - angling towards us rather than away.

    I like this!
    Great to have a ff shot.
    I would like to see a tighter crop with the top branch evicted and some off the RHS to keep the proportions.
    I think the IQ on the cardinal is excellent and love that clear eye,

    Thanks everyone. Gail, when I first worked this one up in 2014, I prepared two versions: one full frame as in the OP, and this one cropped something like you have suggested. I wasn't sure which I liked better, but opted to post the FF shot.
