Out in the middle of nowhere a couple of guys (one of them a professor) from the University of Guelph, were baiting and trapping Snow Buntings for their science project.
This poor fellow was one of the casualties of their trapping and banding procedure.
What happened to it I don't know as I left soon after.

    Karl:

Lovely exposure on the whites. Handsome bird, sharp.

I do worry sometimes about what we do to animals and the environment in the name of "projects" sometimes. This 'we' of course includes us photographers, so we all have to be thoughtful about our impact on our subjects.

    Cheers

Karl that poor bird does look distressed to me, do understand that some ringing /banding might be of some use to find out movement and such ,thinks these people should show more feeling for there subjects and there welfare. Personally I get fed up with seeing birds and animals festooned with bands, rings , and other paraphernalia.
Sorry to go on about my pet hate,I like the way you have captured the bird Karl.
