Tripod, remote control, comfy chair cup of coffee!
Camera Model Name Canon EOS-1D X

We had an hour or so of sunshine so I repositioned the feeding station to catch a little light and set the tripod and camera up. Decided to sit indoors as I am recovering from a heavy cold (yes I'm a wimp - but a warm one!)
    All C&C welcome.

    Jon:

Hopefully a speedy recovery from the cold.

Nice bg here, nice full wing down pose. Generally would prefer that he bill not merge with the wing, but it stands out reasonably well here.

What are you using to see what the camera is viewing? Or just shooting into a prefocused area when a subject passes through that area?

    Cheers

Your prefocused method seems to work well Jon, the bits that matter are really sharp, nice job. Keep warm and maybe a wee dram.

Lovely image, Jonathan. Beautiful color palette, sharp focus where it counts, nice downward wing position. Hoping your cold ends soon, thank you for sharing.

Jon. Nice full wing down pose , beautiful BG and a hard to get shot. I bet with this technique you have a few keepers only with the focus on the eye...but the coffee and the comfort sounds good. TFS.

Superb work Jon. I see where Randy is coming from with the beak coverage, but knowing how difficult the shot was to get I'll happily let you off that one!

Great wings down pose, very impressive end result.
