    This is the same plant species as the one the Skipper is perching on in my last post, only here the flowers haven't opened yet. It tends to bend in the unopened state, only to straighten up when the flowers open. I liked the curving leading the flower into the frame. Same subdued conditions as the Skipper image, this was on the same hike.
    Nikon D7000, Nikkor 200mm Micro, handheld, ISO-640, f/13, 1/160 sec.
    ACR/CS5, shadows lifted.

    This works well in my opinion, the composition looks good and the depth of field is just right. The colours look great too.

    I like the comp and the DOF is perfect to focus our attention on the flower head. Also nice light, colors, and background. Very well done!
