While I'm thinking about warblers, here's one from early last Spring. Ovenbirds have always teased me with their constant song in the woods, but I can rarely spot them. They often lurk in low underbrush or on the ground, and seem determined to taunt me. I like to think that this guy felt he was secure in his hiding place; and in a few more days the buds would leaf out and make him and his fellow warblers harder to spot. (Truth is, he was probably curious about my audio.) I wish his tail was visible, but I was pleased to get an almost clear shot of him.

I like the buds, helps set the season/tell the story, but I am struggling with the small branch in front of him. If the fork was a bit lower, perhaps it would be less prominent.
This one made me smile. He looks like he is in jail.
I love the buds. The tightly wrapped leaves are about to burst out- very nice.
The techs are solid, as is your usual, but I am not loving the Y shaped twig in front of the bird(even though it tells a story).

Hi Bill, good flashwork to expose this fellow so well in the undergrowth. The FG twig has been mentioned, but what no one has said is how well the birds head is framed in the 'Y' .
