Default Black necked stilt banking in warm evening light

    Attached Images Attached Images

    Canon 1D4, 840mm
    1/3200, f6.3, ISO 640
    Manual, handheld
FF top to bottom, cropped from the sides.
Evicted a couple of faint OOF blobs (probably gulls on the far bank). Very mild NR on the BG.

Was nice to get a short photography outing after many months of other stuff that has a tendency to get in the way.
    Happy New Year all!

Oh yeah, this is super! I love the subtle colouring on the back and wings. Perfect banking pose too, and set off against a beautiful BG.

Beautiful bird, wonderful rich colors .... so pleasing to the eye. Being super picky here, but I bet there are more details to be had in the top wing, but Mr. Jpeg might be at work here. :)

Very nice image, really liking the BG colors here. The pose by the bird is great. Always fun photographing Stilts. I see just a slight blur in front of the bird's white portion of the head, maybe due to the white against the dark colors. It may be carefully cloned out, (makes the head look sharper I would think). Other than that this is a great image. TFS!

    Hi Sid,

Love the iridescence of the wings against the dark background and the strong contrast of the whites.

Beautiful image - thanks for sharing,

    Gerald

Good catch, Ray! I was a bit sloppy with my mask for the BG NR. Will fix. Thanks!

Hi Sid, absolutely nailed. Love the full wingspread, and overall well exposed. I like how the Stilt pops from the darker BG. Well captured.
