Hi Pepe, great red carpet welcome to BPN!!!!
I've been enjoying your Bartola pictures in Spain, good to see her here.
Great set-up that managed the full frozen wings, excellent exposure, background and those folded little feet are precious!
Enhorabuena y un abrazo,
Fabs
Excellent image, Pepe! Great pose, details, exposure control and BG but the bird approaching the cricket puts it over the top for me! There is a slight sharpening halo around the thorns, body and tail of the bird, easy to fix. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!
Is O.K. now ?
Yes, the repost looks better but now there is a brighter area around the tail! :)
This is the "original" photo.
I'm daltonic
Shorry
The 'original' has no halos, the BG is not as uniform as in the processed version but it is an excellent image nonetheless. Having daltonism must be challenging with this kind of BG.
Awesome picture, nice details, colors, and wing position.
Did you place the cricket as bait?
Saludos,
Raul
Absolutely gorgeous as first posted!! Excellent control and placement of flashes to create natural appearance to lighting!! I'm curious as to how you managed the background with such a short lens. I typically use a 400mm to 600mm with my high speed flash work with a painted poster board background lit by one or two flashes. With a 50mm lens, I'd think it would be difficult to evenly light the background (since the angle of view is so great with the 50mm lens). You did a marvelous job!!
Very beautiful and great timing.
I really like the timing and the fantastic bg
Raul Quinones Awesome picture, nice details, colors, and wing position.

Saludos,
Yes, cricket rarely, habitually worms

This one is the montage
1,2, y3 are flashes to 1/16 and 1/32 of power, operating 2 as master.
4 it is a flash to 1/4 to illuminate the BG
5 artificial BG painted to roller with dull painting.
6 tripod, that the artificial BG holds.
7 camera to F20 V1/125 with an lens of 50 mm F1,8
8 is a worm subject to a thread of nylon.
The montage must be to the shade, while deeper better.
I am late approximately three quarters of hour in mounting it and do the photos with remote shooter.
Pardon for my bad English
Hi my friend, is a pleasure to see this image here. You are working hard with the high speed flash set-up and with "Bartola" and the results are really outstanding. I have some suggestions about the processing but I think is better if we both work on the computer at home than to explain here in english.
You are a great man Pepe! :)
