Peter, I appreciate your suggestion. You might say... I lost sight of the forest for the trees. Too much concentration on the captivating eyes of these little owls. Here is a edit and repost showing the whole left owl. Thanks again.

Great shot. I have not been able to get anywhere near that close to these elusive birds let alone to their burrow. Second post is much better but I might get lost in the eyes also.
