This fellow had been very aggressive in chasing other males out of his section of the pond before resting for a moment here.

I attached the top image then didn't like the spot to the left of his head so did a clean-up of that and then I thought I had deleted the 1st image and added the revised one but the system here insists on keeping both images in the post.

    Hi Bob,

The exposure look good but the middle tones could go a lot lighter. Do you use NIK Color EFEX Pro? Tip: when the ducks start angling towards you and getting close switch to vertical. That would help you to AF on the bird's head; in this image sharpest focus is beyond the head.... a

Arthur I don't have any NIK software but I have the full suite of Topaz products. Do you know if anything in Topaz is equivalent to NIK Color FX Pro?

That water color and the patterns and swirls within it are highly appealing.
The duck's head is slightly out of the DOF focus and it looks like the critical focus point was on the back.
Agree the blacks could have a bit more detail,

it looks like this image has too much noise reduction, there is hardly any detail left anywhere, too much NR makes the photo look like a watercolor painting. do you have the DPP4 guide Bob?
