    Default Wood Duck head on

Taken several years ago. The ISO is high for my old D7000, and combined with a somewhat largish crop and slow SS the IQ is less than it should be. But I liked the colorful duck in this non-traditional aspect, his puffy cheeks reminding me of a chipmunk, and the fall background. Given the month's theme I figured I'd share it. After looking over my frames of this bird, it seems he had a damaged right wing, which could explain why he's listing to port here.

Bill when I first looked thought maybe a bit of rotation until I looked at your comment re the right wing, think the colours are lovely and can certainly live with the little loss of IQ,very nice indeed.

Hi Bill, I full support your own assessment, however like you, I rather like it because of the rich, warm colours and the jaunty HA.

I agree with your own assessment Bill - nice light, best you could do given the crop.

Beautiful image, Bill. Like the motoring along bow wave. Love the bright surrounding light and the straight ahead eye contact.

    Killer colors in the BG!
The comp is unconventional but works well.
