    Default Wood Duck

This image was captured in March at a nearby marsh. There had been reports of a number of Wood Ducks, only saw two and this one drifted out from behind some tall reeds quite a distance away. C&C welcome.

Hi Geoffrey, the image does convey a sense of habitat that we often find these guys in, especially during early spring migration. Good on you to place the small-in-the-frame subject well to the right. A couple of issues to watch out for: the image need some CCW rotation, and the subject is noisy and not as sharp as it could be...I suspect the distance you had to it brought in some atmospheric distractions to soften the details.

This is certainly the way I usually see them -- way off in the middle of the marsh. I like the fact that his full helmet is showing. Ditto Daniel's comments.

I like the habitat but the bird is too noisy and soft as Dan mentioned.

Some problems with the IQ but I do like the whole scene.

Thanks everyone. I agree with your assessment Daniel. I did try to extract some more detail from the duck, but it appears it's too distant.
