    Default Mallard

Taken a few months into this year with Jamie D, whilst he was trying out one of my 1Dx's and endeavouring to get him back into the 'photography fold'.

I'm not going to set the world alight with this one, but with the colour of the water at around 10-15% grey, it seemed to cry out for just a white background and to present the bird only. As I said, more for fun than anything else.
Have a great Xmas Boys & Girls, see you in the New Year.

I usually like high-key backgrounds, and the sharp detail on the hen looks technically perfect. But for my individual taste, something about the static centered comp just isn't working as well as some of your previous work. But it's always good to have some fun, and you are the master at trying different things. Merry Christmas to you.

Hi Bill the great thing with something like this is - you can position the subject where and in whatever frame you like .

But it's always good to have some fun, and you are the master at trying different things. Merry Christmas to you.
Master I doubt, but I just like to bring some fun into my captures whether it's through the capture or the subject itself, that's the great USP of this medium. have a good one yourself.

I like the colours on the duck. I also like how you captured the HA at the perfect time for getting the best light on it

    Merry Christmas Steve

Steve the duck itself and it's reflection looks spot on with great IQ,smashing sheen on the feathers,Think you have got to take the master tag of trying different things from which most of us benefit.

Thanks for your tips and help and advice over the past year.

    Very Merry Christmas .

    Keith.

Hi Steve - certainly eye catching against the high key bg. Beautiful light and excellent detail. Btw, as you know, I would not call this a high key image because of the contrast in the subject. I would call the bg high key.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Cheers David, likewise your input on mine too, I think we can ALL learn from each other.

BTW, you should post an image of that 'famous' truck, have you fitted additional seats on the sides now, to cope with demand?
All the very best for 2016 too, looking forward to more striking imagery from you in the months ahead.

    Cheers
    Steve
