    Default Another one from Australia

Hi everyone I am from the Wimmera region of Victoria a wheat and sheep area. Several months ago at the tender age of 72 I did a short, free, online photography course because i was looking for a less physical hobby. I was intending to do landscapes but i ended up hooked on birds so my less physical hobby turned into a very physical one. I was told that if i was serious about becoming a half decent bird photographer this is the place to learn. I am looking forward to sharing and learning.

    Welcome Frank,
I have only been on this site for a short time but the examples , information and help have been invaluable.
Soon to become payed up member.
We are about the same age and unfortunately I'm feeling limitations in my mobility too.
Quite a few kilometers between us but plenty of bird photography opportunities in your area I'm sure.
Corn, Sugar Cane, Potatoes and lots more grown in the rich red volcanic soil up this way.
Dairy industry has a big presence up here too.
Looking forward to seeing some of your photographs.
    Paul.

Welcome Frank, BPN is a great place to learn. I have learned much from posting my shots, participating in critiquing others, and reading helpful posts in the forums. This truly is the place to be. Have fun here! Ross

Thanks for the welcome Paul and Ross. Yes there are lots of birds around here i have to learn to make the most of them. I can already see that this is the place to do that. As you can see by the time i am not a great sleeper so i will be around here early most morning learning and waiting for the sun to rise.
    Merry Christmas Frank

Hi Frank, welcome to BPN!! Yes, the person who led you here was correct. Bird photography does not have to be very physical...simple feeder setups in your back yard or local park can yield fantastic results and hours of pleasure.
