Not a vividly colorful duck perhaps, but I love the beautiful fine feather pattern and subtle colors of this species.

I agree that it is a subtly beautiful duck. I think the foreground and background elements work to nicely frame your subject although it would be better if the one grass blade did not protrude into the breast.

Bill you are certainly delivering the ducks, I have never seen a gadwall so well presented, the colours are not so flashy a other species but you have shown them to their maximum effect.

Really like all the nice muter colours Bill, I'm fine with the setting ,as Jonathan says you are certainly producing some smashing water fowl.

Nice details, and I love the raised head feathers giving it a classic gadwall shape. The habitat is OK for the most part, except I cold do without the one blade touching the duck or the clump directly above the head. Lovely earthy tones throughout...

Beautiful image, Bill. Nice detail and hint of blue reflection. Like the new spring shoots, Lily pads? and water color complimenting the duck.

Beautiful bird, nicely shown. I like the environment for a background. Thank you for sharing, Bill.
