I had to borrow from archives again. Snow on the SIU campus about 3 years ago.

The lone snow laden pine in the land of the deciduous needs a back story. I like the undisturbed fore ground. The cloud shrouded distant trees on the left adds depth. I was going to ask if you considered moving a few paces to the right. After a closer look, it appears the leading line of bg trees stops. I have been trying to learn more about my plugins this winter. I added a bit of Topaz Adjust Clarity and moved the subject further to the left with a crop.

Hi, Hazel, this is a nice winter image. I like Gary's repost but would like a little more foreground - maybe inbetween the OP and Gary's.

thanks. I think the crop worked well. Funny how a small change can make such a difference.

I like the cold and wintry look of this image. I agree that a little more foreground in Gary's repost would be good.

Lovely snowy scene Hazel. I like the crop on the left, I thought of that myself before reading Gary's post. A little more at the bottom would suit me too.

I'm not sure what snow is, but I keep hearing about it...

You created a lovely scene! I like the clump of trees on the left, but agree that a step to the right might have made the gap to the left of the main tree a little smaller. I'm with the slight crop from the bottom, but it's good to have a version with room for text -- it would make a great Christmas card.
