This common loon was captured last summer in June. I appreciated the pose to show off the various greens on the neck and head, the elegant "necklace" and low position in the water.

Super sharp and dramatic. I did not know that you liked to photograph this species . a

ps: Love the pose but if I had my choice, I would like to see the bird a bit more to our left in the frame.

Hi Randy, super sharp and love the iridescent colour/detail in the head, the beads of water really adds and takes the image up a few more notches. Nicely exposed with the contrast of the whites & darks. The low POV is so key in a shot like this for me. Nice work Randy.
A stunning shot. Whenever I think your loonies can't get any better you post a new one. The crisp blacks and whites stand out beautifully against the gorgeous green; the subtle iridescent colors in the head; the look-back pose; the droplets on the chin; the reflected blue in the green water. All combine for a winner. I could imagine the bird just a fraction further to the left, and maybe slightly lower in the frame -- but I'd put it on my wall just as is.
Hi Randy, Ive always enjoyed your low shooting angles from your boat, and you never fail to expose these guys to perfection. Greens looks great, as does the overall sharpness. I do like the splashes of blue in the lower half of the water FG, and if this were mine, I would take a bit off the bottom. Just a personal thought.
Fantastic Loon image. Doesn't get much better than this. TFS
