Harlequin Duck

A moment of relative calm for this Harlequin in the swells of the swift moving Barnegat channel next to the jetty in April of last year. C&C welcome.

I like the raised tail, complimentary BG and water drop on the wing tip. Nice image of this beautiful duck.

Geoffrey I likethe processing - excellent but there are two things that we cannot always control are head angle and height of camera in relation to the subject, had they been optimal it would have been a real cracker of a shot.

I have never seen a harlequin in real life so whenever I see an image of this duck I get a good feeling.
IQ and colors are lovely.I like that big water droplet by the tail.
Yes to a head turn our way but not a deal breaker.

Wonderful exposure and thus wonderful feather detail throughout. Well done but for the fact that when the bird is angled toward us the head needs at least to be on straight (relative to the angle of the body).
