    Default Mandarin Duck

Here's a Mandarin Duck I photographed in some sweet Southern California late afternoon light last March. Winter is a great time to photograph ducks in So. Cal.!

Canon 7D Mark II, 100-400 mm II @ 312 mm, f/7.1, 1/1250, ISO 400, manual exposure, hand held

Hi Doug, very well exposed on all the various colours, good HA, and you got the sharpness spot on. I do like the colour and texture of the water too.

Wonderful shot Doug, I do not think it is overexposed but I reckon a luminosity mask would bring out further details in the whites.

    Lovely looking duck.
Jonathan has the same thought as I do re" the whites on the head. I am sure there is a bit more detail there.
The water pattern really adds to the image. Excellent IQ.

Great looking frame Doug. Looks like he is swimming in liquid gold. The colors and details are fantastic. We should see more of these next month. See you soon
