    This was taken in the spring at my backyard set-up. I cloned out a couple of seeds on the wood. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

    Hi Jim,

    I really like the perch, background and composition! I have the impression that the head is tilted such that it seems the bird is looking at something on the ground rather than down the lens. The saturation of the beak seems a little strong, perhaps just in contrast to the black background.

    Hi Jim, you certainly nailed the perfect pose here, HA and all. I like the colours on this fellow, and a perch with interesting detail. Natural or not, I like the darker BG.

    Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. The BG was some cedar trees in the early morning shade.
