I captured this shot, while shooting Herons and Egrets, and I was glad that there were some clouds in the sky. Maybe not the most colourful subject, but a good test on the whites. Taken early morning.

    Very impressive Stu!

I love the look of this bird :) Composition in pano is great. Exposure blacks and whites seem ideal. Love the sky in the background with faint clouds.

Lovely light and image. Crop works great. We actually had one of these birds in SE Florida several years back!!!

Great flight pose, and perfect exposure. Love the clouds with just a hint of early morning color.

I like it and you are right about the clouds. I think you made a good compositional choice by going with a pano. Open bill is nice.

Perfect exposure on the white, good shooting angle, nice wings down pose and good framing for the longish shape in flight, Stu.

This is just perfect for me. I like the fully extended wings, the excellent exposure, the background with just a hint of colour in the clouds and the way that the beak is open just a fraction. Agree that the pano framing suits this image.

Stu the exposure you have on this can't be far off perfect, agree with the others re cropping and that nice sky.

Another excellent flight shot Stu. Nice wing position, with just a hint of curl in the wing tip, and a perfect angle on the bird. Details well controlled in a subject of very contrasting tones.

You've indeed done well with the whites here, Stu! Nice wing position, nice detail & clarity - not to mention the BG! I would have been be proud of it had it been mine...

Love this Stu! My favorite color of BG is that gun metal grey you have here.
    Exposure is perfect.
    Well done,
    Gail

I'm a bit late but I just had a morning off to check out the forum. What a great shot Stu! The wing position and the HA look great but the killer exposure really makes this one shine. The clouds add something to the BG that I like. Well done
