    Photographed with Nikon D300, 600mm + 1.4TC, f7.1, 1/1600th, ISO 1600, cropped 5:4 to 3425 x 2737 pixels, then downsized to 800x800 using Aperture and Border FX. Longitude: 86 degrees 23' 41.988 W Lat. 34 degrees 25' 21.538 N On June 1 at 10:07 AM.

    Nice even light with great wing position! Feather detail is good, especially considering you shot at ISO 1600. To bad the bird is flying away from you. A little more saturation and brightness would help make the image pop. Thanks for posting!

    Good discussion here. I like the wing position and soft light. I would give it a bit more room at the bottom and crop some off the top and also would have preferred the bird flying toward you.

    Hope I did better with this one?

    For some reason I prefer to crop to standard print sizes, usually 8x10. That is the case with these photos.

    Taken with a D300 Nikon.
