Lovely shot , birds look great with the water droplets on the breasts, very nice warm Bg ,not critique but more interest why the little tufts on the birds heads? Very well caught Karl.

Thanks Keith. My guess back then was that they might have got involved into some fight but I might have been wrong and still don't really know for sure.

Magnificent flight shot in beautiful evening lights. Water droplets looks absolutely superb. Lovely colours and tack sharp ducks.

I am on my laptop so not the best for a good critique.
I love the light in this image. Both birds look nice and sharp. Nice complimentary BG.
Love how well the males' iridescence is shown.
This would have been over the top if the females' wing position had been more up or down.
    Really like this Karl,
    Gail

Hi Karl, sweet image, lovely light & BKG colour. Was the female the one you tracked, as the male looks closer to the viewer and not as sharp due to the DoF?

The MKIII was a good camera and with only 10MP the results were good, in good light, so I think perhaps we need to take on board when this was shot and how both you & Technology has moved on.

Killer image, Karl. Talk about great timing and light. Love that you got them both in the frame and that raised tuft of feathers is very interesting. Yes a better wing position on the female would have been ideal, but I'd pretty pretty darn happy with this frame!!!

Very nice Karl, great getting both birds. Love the wee tufty bits on the heads.

    Well done
