Hi folks a new version of Capture One Pro just reached the surface ....
As i am always curious to new stuff when it comes to raw conversion ... i gave it a shot .
Nothing fancy new though just a lot of improvements under the hood , but good ones from my POV .
If there was no DPP on the market i would certainly go with Capture One Pro . Just to run it from time to time on problem images it is simply too expensive ... as they do ask 300 € .
But i have now still 25 days to play with it .. just for fun .
For my older images coming from EOS 1 D MK II + III it is way better than DPP , unless the image has been perfectly exposed and does not have any other issues i would still go with DPP 3 .

Regarding the image .... this little chap was photographed on South Georgia in St. Andrews Bay

    EOS 1D MK III
    EF 500 IS L
    Tripod

    F 8 ; Iso 1250 ; 1/2000 sec ; man exp

Processed with Capture One Pro 9 ; no further editing in PS other than downsizing and save for web

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous image

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas - I've never tried Capture One. Details and sharpness look good. So do the tones. I do find the dark border, presumably an oof seal, at the top of the frame to be distracting. The image also feels a bit tight all around to me. It does have a cuteness factor though.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Thanks Rachel .... nothing i can do about the tightness and the OOF seal , i also think the seal in the BG is not ideal but no distraction for me and i am fine with the tightness .

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas -- Lovely Details and texture on the fur , sharpness spot on , and not too tight for me either . This is looks to me on most counts , especially the blacks have come out good . Sadly nothing can be done of the oof seals but then they were part of the environment . All in all a very good image .

    TFS !

    Hello Andreas,

Super cute and I love the relaxed pose, nice POV and HA there from the seal.

Wonderful textures, chocolate brown fur, well exposed, sharpness is spot on. No crits just compliments, super processing and I kind of like this little chap as he is, framed by the others...looks like he is about to roll off the screen onto my keyboard, so let me get this cup of coffee out of the way:)

Wonderful work Boetie, thank you so much for sharing!

Chat soon, have a lovely evening!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
