Theme: Frosted Leaves
My yard was covered in frost this morning, so I spent an hour doing some macro images of the frost against the leaves, using focus stacking. I posted a non-OOTB image of this in Macro, if you are interested in the camera settings. I stacked 14 images together. For OOTB, I applied Glamour Glow, in Multiply Blend Mode, at about 85% opacity. I bumped up the vibrance as well.
Aren't frosty mornings wonderful? So is this image. The contrast and the complementary colors really make this pop. With its varying colors and tones, I like your background better than a solid black one. Nice job with the focus stacking, too. Did you turn the focus ring or move the camera? I'm never sure which is the better way. Glamour Glow with a Multiply blend mode . . . I don't think I'd have ever thought of that, but I like what you did.
Love the comp, and really nice job with the stacking. The black seems to have carried over on to the leaves (black), and I might mask that out.

Thank you, Dennis, Jackie and Cheryl. I took Jackie's suggestion, and masked out the effect of the multiply blend from the leaves and stems. At first the mask removed the effect of glamour glow as well, so I first applied Overlay, which also made the leaves pop, then copied the image, applied Multiply to the copy, and masked out Multiply from the leaves and stems. The leaves / stems are now quite a bit brighter than the way they appeared in my back yard, but I guess that's OOTB!
A wonderful composition and color palette. I prefer the darker tones of the original.
The image in the macro forum is great, but this OOTB image is gorgeous! It is like frosted candy. The image stack worked well. I don't think it would have been as effective if it wasn't so beautifully sharp. You can tell I really like this image...

That's really pretty, and something I miss about living in a warm climate. I really like the way the light plays on the frosty edges of the leaves. Very nice.

Beautifully jewel-like quality and glow on the frosty edges! I prefer the OP since the jewel-likeness is more emphasized in this one and thus the focus of attention. It is crisp and sparkly and dramatic. In the 2nd posting the colors of the leaves play stronger and the frost is less pronounced visually.

Gorgeous! I'm a sucker for color and love the RP. I wonder about a compromise by bringing up exposure a little on the OP? (I'd try a Curves with the middle pulled up a little.)
The frost edging the leaves is lovely. It looks especially good against the dark bg. I agree with Diane's suggestion about something in between the two versions. What do you think of toning down or cloning out the very bright center of the lower left leaf? I prefer these versions to the one posted in Macro.
