    Karl:

    Excellent dorsal display, I particularly like the tail flare. Lovely background too.

    Based on my local Mallards, I think the colors are just a bit too saturated, but obviously soft light, which does tend to give better color depth.

    Hi Karl,

    The composition and background are quite nice.

    I have a question regarding the colour of the bird or the processing: Did it indeed have burgundy coloured plumage as shown on the back and parts of the wings? I ask because I don't recall seeing that color on Mallard Drakes.

    Karl your Duck pops out very well on that dark Bg,I like the wing positions ,colours can't really comment on because not sure about monitor, very nice job.

    Killer image and love that BG. I have a feeling this bird could be in full breeding plumage with those amazing colors.

    Fabulous dorsal view, and great BG. I might brighten the area around the eye just a bit. I've never seen a Mallard with this coloration.

    Thank you all. What you see is a color cast on the bird, the original has it too.
    You can see in the background that bird is mowing through a treeded area, full of fall colors.
    As we all know colors of the subject are a function of light and the surroundings.
