    Default Mallard (drake)

I captured this image at Lake Mirror in the center of Lakeland, Florida. It many times, especially in the fall and winter, has wild ducks stopping off. I think the tame ducks attract them. The golden color/reflection on the water is from the color of tall buildings on the west side of the park that surrounds the lake. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Nice pose with the open beak, Joe. Very good feather detail. The reflection of man made object plays magical sometimes.

    Joe:

Neat texture on head and body from a recent flap I would think. Open bill, nice catchlight.

I could see a version with the brightness of the water toned down just a sliver, perhaps with a multiply layer at low opacity.

    Cheers

    Hi Joe,

What a lovely image of a happy Mallard :) Very nice details on the bill. Colors on the bird look great.

The water seems bright to me also, so I echo Randy's comment.

I have the impression the bird could be a little lower in the frame.
