Here's one from a couple of weeks ago. It was cold and windy, and this Great Blue Heron tried its best to look miserable. It succeeded

Hi Dan, brilliant detail, as all the feathers fall in the DOF. Nice and sharp, and the Heron pops so well against your smooth BG.

We are in a heat wave, so I could do with some of your cold.

Wonderful portrait. The warm background doesn't match the gloomy look on this herons face!

Super details and great use of the DOF

Oh my goodness, he is SO CUTE!

Indeed grumpy and with lots of character! Was he just grumpy or did he see something edible and was about to take a plunge, Daniel?

Beautiful colours and tons of detail, superb BG, love it

    Kind regards,

I love the feather details and the Herons punky hairdo, the light is nice and the background is smooth with a pleasing colour.

Had a day like that myself today and I looked pretty much like him by the time I got home. No fish either! Great portrait Daniel. ditto to everything that has already been said.

    Daniel,

You captured the essence of it's grumpiness very well. It will be a while before I forget that Blue Heron. I hope it has migrated to a happier place :)

Love the detail and background of this portrait.

Concur with the above, a really good close up, some super feather detail and nice glint in his eye. Looks like I feel at present with all the rain we seem to have on my days off.
