Morkel you say your settings where all wrong, it looks very dark to me which I must say I like, but nice detail and sharp, this is a good learning curve for me ,looking forward to see others with more knowledge than me have to say.

Looks good to me Morkel The low light hitting the antlers/horns/ sets the whole shot off- especially with the subjects in the shade. Lovely sense of " feel " in this shot.
Well done.

The impressive horns, the eye contact and interaction between the two really makes this image Mork! You pulled this off well and agree a very 'moody' image. TFS.

Hi Morkel - I like the way this accentuates the horns. Yes, a bit dark and the light was not your friend here. From the frame, it doesn't look like you had many choices - not enough backlight for a rim lit image, not a good bg for a silhouette. Still a tender moment not often seen between kudus.

Rachel

Hi Morkel a very well framed image of the two , i like the contrast in size of them and the catchlight in their horns . Well composed and a good symmetry in the two subjects .
I am fine with the overall " darkish" appearance and the " full colors"
If you did your usual " clarity trick in LR " with this frame , i guess you did but i might be wrong ?! I would lower the intensity, but for sure this is just me being it .
What makes me wonder is the strong noise appearance in the BG !!??

Hey Bud -- Very rare to get a clean shot of kudu, as they are almost always in the deep stuff with vegetation all around. And, they tend to be quite shy and not very cooperative for us photogs. I love the title and that you managed to get a young kudu head on with an older one. The kiss of light on the horns also makes this image special. Good processing and handling given the difficult lighting situation. Have you tried this in mono? Curious to see how it would look.

Hi Morkel -- loved the antlers in this dark setting . i liked the vertical framing here and nice timing to freeze the interaction of the bulls .

Thanks for your comments, folks.
I have tried it in B&W, Mark, and didn't quite like how it came out - I might just give it another bash...
