    Captured image just after this adult male, with Yellow-jacket snack perched on an Eastern Red Cedar branch in a local preserve this past July. C&C welcome.

    D4S, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 TC, 1/800s, f 7.1, ISO 800, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    I'm sure you know Geoffrey it's hard to get your subject to stand out against a tight up Bg it certainly is for me, like the colours of the bird and the bug is a real bonus, well caught.

    NIce pose, snack, exposure and head angle. I do agree with Keith about the background.

    I am seeing some fuzziness along the top of the bird, from the neck rearward. Sharpening halo or side effect?

    Thanks Keith. I appreciate and agree with your point, and though you can find these particular birds in the open, they love to stay behind or weave through branches such as this.

    Thanks Randy. I debated whether to leave the branch in or out behind the top of the bird, and should have taken a look at removing it as in this repost.
