    Default Extra Legs?

Piping Plover chicks - 2 under rap and one out in the drizzle this AM. Glad to see three still alive and doing good. They did need a warm up from time to time between foraging. Massive crop (do not want to bother them) - no light (sure need to learn to use that BB for fill) iso800, AV +1, AF one shot, f5.6 at 1/1000, 1dm3 on 500 w/ 1.4X mounted on BushHawk. Bob

Nice behavior captured. I might remove the dark spot at the top and crop a bit off the bottom.

Hi Bob. A very nice image of one of my favorite birds (I spent 9 years studying them in MN). I really like the behavior you captured - it's a real struggle for these little guys to survive. I'm only seeing 1 under raps rather than 2? You might try a little more sharpening on the birds. The purple shell, while part of the environment, draws my eye away from the birds.

    Bob,

I agree with the previous recommendations. You might try upping the contrast with a curves adjustment as it appears a bit flat with the overcast.

    Nice capture of the behavior.

Thanks guys, I will give these ideas a try. The image is not the best it seems the focus is off when you see the RAW. Also I was rushing the shots not to loose the poses but that I feel in low light with flat contrast gets this result - also I said BIG crop. Here is the one with the 3 in frame! Bob

What a thrill Bob to see these little babies. I have not had the pleasure as yet. Love this capture and the warm intimate moment you were able to photograph. I too find the purple shell draws my eye away and agree with all of the above. Thanks for sharing.
